Welcome to 2026! As we continue into our 125th year, we’ve got a full and exciting calendar of events ahead, so read on to see what’s coming up, including:
Note that XC (Cross Country) dates are subject to confirmation by Queensland Athletics.
If we have missed any major events on the TEES athletics calendar, please let us know and we will include them in the next edition.
TEES Open Night — Thursday, 5 March
Our annual Open Night is a great opportunity for current members to show prospective members what TEES is all about. Join us at the clubhouse at 6pm for a shortened training session, followed by a BBQ, prizes, and plenty of social time. We'll provide information about our different training groups, this year's cross country season, and some of the other marquee events happening throughout 2026.
If you have friends, family, or colleagues who might be interested in getting into (or back into) running, please invite them along. More details will be shared in the coming weeks.
TEES Takeover @ Minnippi parkrun — Saturday, 28 February
The weekend before Open Night, we’ll be hosting our first TEES Takeover of the year at Minnippi parkrun providing volunteers, pacers, and post‑run refreshments. To get involved, contact Gary Bloxsom, or reply to this email to express your interest in future takeovers.
These events are a fantastic way to promote our club within the local running community. Whether you're volunteering, pacing, or joining in for a social run, we’d love to see you there - and don’t forget to wear your TEES gear.
We’re also planning a TEES Takeover at Wishart parkrun in March. We’ll confirm the date soon.
TEES Tourist @ Fodder Forest parkrun — Saturday, 21 February
note that the email newsletter incorrectly stated this event is on the 14th Feb
If you love parkrun, then our TEES Tourist events give members the chance to explore new courses in a relaxed, social setting. On 28 February, we’ll be donning our TEES gear and heading to Fodder Forest at Victoria Point for our first tourist run of the year.
Cross Country Season Kicks Off — Sunday 26 April
The 2026 SEQ Cross Country Series features multiple events held between April and June. Most events are held on Saturday afternoons from 2pm (with a small number of Sunday events). Each event includes races for Juniors (1/2/3/4km), Opens (4/6/8km) and Masters (6km).
Each event is hosted by a different QA‑affiliated club, with TEES set to host Event #3 on 16 May at Minnippi Parklands. We will share the full season schedule, once posted to the Queensland Athletics competition page in the coming weeks.
In 2025, TEES Athletics won the overall series thanks to strong participation and some outstanding individual performances. We’re aiming to back it up again this year and would love to see even more TEES runners at the start line in 2026.
Club Uniforms
Last year, we launched a new range of light-weight competition singlets, T-shirts and crops including our iconic 125th anniversary singlet. These can be purchased at the clubhouse on a Monday or Thursday night via credit/debit card:
All garments are approved for wear in Queensland Athletics events.
